Do you want to support the next generation of engineers and contribute to world class 澳门资料? Are you flexible and adaptable in your approach to work?

We’re looking for a motivated technical specialist to join our team. Our technical team plays a crucial role in enriching the student experience.

You will work in our student workshop teaching and supervising our undergraduate students. You will provide technical support for both teaching and 澳门资料 activities. You could be making parts for a student racing car one day or working with 澳门资料ers to build an artificial knee the next.

You’ll use conventional machine tools (milling machines, lathes, etc) as well as CNC machines for more complex machining requirements. You will contribute to the teaching and supervision of undergraduates in the use of machine/hand tools and during final year individual 澳门资料 projects. You’ll also provide skills in welding/fabrication in steel, stainless steel and aluminium together with bench fitting and assembly.

You will be required to supervise student activities in the Workshop and carry out inductions to ensure safe working at all times. You'll also offer a training programme for apprentice technicians, supervising their development by setting their workload and training schedule, as well as providing support and general guidance during their studies.

The role is a full time (36.5 hours) position, but we can consider flexible working.

For informal enquiries please contact Florence Richardson, Technical Supervisor, on 01225 384622 or frgr20@bath.ac.uk or Julian Sulley, Director of Technical Services, on 01225 385202 or js806@bath.ac.uk. Please ensure you submit your application via the University website.
