We’re looking for a motivated technical specialist to join our team. Our technical team plays a crucial role in enriching the student experience. 

You will work in our student workshop teaching and supervising our undergraduate students. You will provide technical support for both teaching and 澳门资料 activities. You could be making parts for a student racing car one day or working with 澳门资料ers to build an artificial knee the next. 

You’ll use conventional machine tools (milling machines, lathes, etc) as well as CNC machines for more complex machining requirements. You will contribute to the teaching and supervision of undergraduates in the use of machine/hand tools and during final year individual 澳门资料 projects. You’ll also provide skills in welding/fabrication in steel, stainless steel and aluminium together with bench fitting and assembly.

You will be required to supervise student activities in the Workshop and carry out inductions to ensure safe working at all times. You'll also offer a training programme for apprentice technicians, supervising their development by setting their workload and training schedule, as well as providing support and general guidance during their studies.

The role is a full time (36.5 hours) position, but we can consider flexible working.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for all general sports enquiries and will have responsibility for booking and taking payments for facilities, classes, courses, supporting the Reception Manager in implementing the access policy and providing excellent customer service as part of our committed and dedicated Reception team.

You should have experience working with a range of customers, excellent interpersonal and customer care skills as well as sound IT skills to enable you to deliver high standards of service to our students, staff, general public, performance sports partners and visiting athletes.

There are physical elements to the role, including assisting with security incidents and the emergency process when evacuating customers and users safely from the facilities.

Further information

This is a part-time position, working an average of 17.5 hours per week (0.48 FTE) over a 3-week rotating rota covering the facility opening hours and business needs. This is an all year-round position, and weekday shifts start at 15:45.

We have vacancies for a full-time Domestic Assistant (36.5 hours a week) to provide a high quality cleaning service in our student accommodation.

The 澳门资料 Accommodation department houses over 4000 students throughout the academic year and during the summer month’s external companies use our accommodation services for conferences, summer camps and away days.

About the role:

As a Domestic Assistant you will be required to clean student kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms in accordance with service level agreements and standards of hygiene and cleanliness. 

Other responsibilities include the setup of student and guest rooms, reporting maintenance requirements and ensuring health and safety within the workplace.

The residences are used by students and external customers and cleaning is required in some areas at weekends, therefore there is an expectation to work weekends on a rota basis. Weekend rota work requirements apply mainly during peak periods. 

You will work 5 days out of 7 and have days off during the week when you are required to work at weekends. The hours for this role are 9am to 5:20pm. 

Previous experience of cleaning work is highly desirable as is experience of working in a hotel or student accommodation environment.

The School of Management is seeking to appoint a second Rankings & Accreditation Officer on a two year fixed term, full time basis.

This role is part of a close-knit team which works inside the Dean’s Office to achieve the School of Management’s goals in the areas of rankings and accreditations.  Through collaboration and teamwork the role holder will work in both areas alongside another Rankings & Accreditation Officer, a Data Officer and be line managed by the Rankings & Accreditations Manager.  

The role has two complementary parts:

1) Working within the School’s rankings group, you will manage data submissions to rankings organisations; conduct in-depth analysis of the key rankings, monitor ranking performance and create reports

2) You will plan and project manage the School’s submissions to the main accreditation bodies, including AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA as well as programme-level accreditations such as ACCA, CFA etc. 

In fulfilling these functions, you will foster and maintain a regular working relationship with colleagues across the School of Management and with key personnel in the rankings and accreditation bodies.

This is a busy and varied role which requires you to have excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and be confident with data and have strong analytical skills. 

You must be able to work to tight deadlines on their own initiative, and to learn new systems and procedures rapidly.

About you

You must have served a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering Maintenance, or an appropriate engineering discipline (or related subject) and have demonstrable post training experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and fitting of BMS/automated controls.

Other desirable qualifications are

  • Relevant qualification in BMS/automated controls related subject for Schneider Sigma and EBO systems
  • IET 18th Edition
  • City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma or NVQ Level 1 Certificate in Plumbing, Heating, and Ventilation
  • JIB ECS card
  • IOSH Certificate
  • PASMA licence
  • IPAF licence

  • To support the Head of Policy Programmes and Communications and Policy Engagement Manager with the pilot Bath Policy Engagement Academy (BPEA). To support the delivery of policies, activities, and programmes for the academy
  • To work with the Policy Engagement Manager to support the development and launch of the Policy Fellowship Alumni network
  • To proofread policy publications produced in-house, such as Policy Briefs. To produce infographics, when relevant. To help 澳门资料 relevant policy contacts to cascade individual policy publications too.
  • To support the ActNowFilm Project, in partnership with Cambridge Zero. This youth voices global film project will showcase at COP29. Previous films have showcased at COP26, COP27 and COP28. The intern will play a key project management role, and also act as a youth voices representative on the project
  • To carry out 澳门资料 for a variety of live projects.

About the role

Working as part of the Disability Service you will provide high-quality advice and support to disabled students by assessing and identifying needs, recommending relevant and personalised reasonable adjustments that enable them to access their studies and remove barriers to their success. This will include assisting students to access specialist funded support such as Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) to help meet their individual support needs.

You will work collaboratively to co-ordinate support across a range of University professional services, academic departments and external agencies regarding disabled student cases, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues to ensure effective signposting and referrals in response to risk, complex need or specialist services.

A significant proportion of your time will be spent conducting appointments with students. Most appointments will be in person, although you will at times also meet with students remotely (especially during the pre-arrival period).

About you

You will have

  • experience of casework management relating to students or clients with disabilities, mental health difficulties or long-term medical conditions
  • a thorough knowledge of equality and diversity principles and legislative requirements
  • an ability to self-organise, set priorities and work flexibly and effectively as part of a team

Further information

This role is offered on a full-time basis (36.5 hours per week).

The department offers hybrid working, however the exact number of days on campus each week may need to alter in relation to student demand through the year. The department supports flexible working requests and encourages these to be explored through the recruitment process, although the student-facing nature of this role and the requirement to provide a face-to-face service means that your days working on campus will need to be agreed and committed to as part of your team’s overall operational planning.

The Team provides financial support for the core functions of Payment processing, Income collection, Payroll and internal recharging and is responsible for all financial reporting for the stakeholder group, from budget preparation to final account stage.

About the role

You will play a key role in assisting the Room Leader and team in providing high quality childcare and education appropriate to the age and stage of development of the children. You will work to maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.

You will be required to complete tasks line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. A core responsibility is planning and providing safe, appropriate, child-led and adult initiated experiences, activities and play opportunities indoor, outdoor and in out-of-setting contexts, which enable children to develop and learn. 

You will also maintain children’s records and carry out assessments, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the Nursery. Importantly, you will support the Room Leader acting as a role model in supervising and monitoring Nursery Assistants, casual workers, students and volunteers.

  • be a good team player with sound communication and organisation skills
  • have knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum with the ability to support the development of our children
  • have a relevant first aid qualification

We have an part time vacancy for Domestic Assistant/Cleaner to provide a high quality service in our student accommodation. You’ll have a key role in helping students transition from living at home to fully independent living and ensuring all our accommodation users have the best possible experience when staying with us.

As a Domestic Assistant/ Cleaner you will be required to clean student kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms in accordance with service level agreements and standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Full details of this role are included in the Job Description.

The hours for these part time positions (27.5hrs) is 10am to 4pm. As this is a permanent day time role, if you are a student at 澳门资料, you may consider applying instead to one of our hourly paid roles. These can be more flexible around your availability (see ).

The residences are mainly used by students, but during summer it is also used by external customers so there is an expectation to work weekends on a rota basis during summer. You will work 5 days out of 7 and have days off during the week when you are required to work at weekends.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (full-time for 2 years) to join Dr. Yixian Sun’s new 澳门资料 group looking at ‘Sustainability Governance of China’s Global Infrastructure Investments’ (GI4S). This innovative 澳门资料 project is funded by the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. 

This is an exciting opportunity to produce highly impactful 澳门资料 for 澳门资料ers with a strong interest in environmental governance and sustainable development, and in China’s global engagement. You will join Dr. Sun’s team based in the Department of Social and Policy Science at the 澳门资料 and will collaborate closely with 澳门资料ers in the International Development group as well as the Earth System Research Governance Centre at Bath. 

The project will develop an ambitious and innovative 澳门资料 programme to advance understanding of China's global influence. The primary goal of the 澳门资料 is to assess China's efforts to promote green development through its overseas engagement and also investigate the environmental and social impacts of Chinese overseas activities in different host contexts (e.g., Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh). 

You will be responsible for conducting high-quality 澳门资料 through in-depth fieldwork (carried out in collaboration with the project’s international collaborators) and using mixed methods on key topics of the 澳门资料 programme including:

  • Initiatives seeking to govern sustainability impacts of Chinese overseas investment
  • Social and environmental impacts of China-financed infrastructure projects
  • Host countries’ policies to attract China’s green investment and its impacts

As a member of the Research Staff at the 澳门资料, you will be encouraged and expected to take up to a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis for two years with an expected start date of 01/08/2024.

About you

You will have a track record in the development of new courses as well as experience of 澳门资料 and teaching, with an established 澳门资料 portfolio. In particular, you will have experience in Computer Systems Engineering or Robotics Engineering.  

You will hold a PhD and an undergraduate degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or a very closely related subject. Your duties and responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • ensuring that areas are always cleaned to the highest standards including Changing Rooms, Toilets, Office Spaces, Corridors, Sports Hall, Stairs and General customer areas.
  • maintaining Health and Safety standards using COSHH in line with the recommended instructions. 
  • re-filling all Soaps/Antibacterial liquids/Cleaning agents, Paper Towels and Toilet Rolls.
  • good attention to detail

You may also be required to use machinery, but don’t worry, we will give you all the training you need in order to use it.
